Terms of Service

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Ratioed. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

If you are using the Service on behalf of a company or other legal entity, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

2. Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must:

• Provide accurate information when creating your account
• Keep your password or passkey secure and not share it
• Notify us immediately at legal@ratioed.co if you suspect unauthorised access
• Not create more than one account per person without our written permission

We may suspend or terminate your account if we believe your account has been compromised or used in violation of these Terms.

3. Content and conduct

Ratioed lets users post ratios (binary debate questions) and cast votes. By submitting content, you grant Ratioed a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to host, display, distribute, and use that content to operate and improve the Service.

You retain ownership of content you create. You represent that you have the right to post it.

You may not post content that:

• Is illegal, threatening, harassing, defamatory, or hateful
• Infringes any third-party intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights
• Contains child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — zero tolerance, will be reported
• Impersonates another person or entity
• Contains spam, malware, or deceptive links
• Violates any applicable law or regulation

We reserve the right to remove any content and suspend or terminate any account that violates these rules, at our sole discretion and without prior notice.

4. Archetype system

Ratioedmay assign you an archetype label (e.g. "Galaxy Brain", "Contrarian", "Main Character", "NPC") based on your voting patterns. These labels are generated algorithmically and are for entertainment and social purposes only. They do not constitute assessments of your character, intelligence, or any other personal quality.

5. Intellectual property

The Ratioed name, logo, design, software, and all original content created by us are owned by Ratioed and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without our written permission.

6. Third-party services

The Service integrates with third-party providers including Google, Apple, X (Twitter), Supabase, Cloudflare, and PostHog. Your use of those services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party providers.

7. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

Vote results and archetype labels on Ratioed reflect the views of our users, notRatioed. We make no representations about the accuracy or reliability of any content posted by users.

8. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, RATIOED AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING UNDER THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $100.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Ratioed and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service; (b) content you submit; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any third-party rights.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.

Sections 5, 7, 8, 9, and 11 survive termination.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by applicable law. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved informally by contacting us at legal@ratioed.co. If informal resolution fails within 30 days, disputes shall be resolved by binding arbitration on an individual basis — you waive the right to a jury trial or class action.

Notwithstanding the above, either party may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction for intellectual property infringement or other urgent matters.

EU/UK users: Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under EU or UK consumer law, which cannot be waived by contract.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be notified via email or in-app notice at least 7 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
